Why U-Tech?

U-Tech Prep is a national and international online school, advancing digital education enriched with live, interactive learning alongside teachers and peers. Students may enroll full-time or choose individual courses for homeschooling, accessing high-quality online instruction curated and powered by Jenison Innovation Academy (JIA), with 14 years of excellence in online education. U-Tech Prep is built on a foundation of strong relationships between students, parents, and the school community. The High School (grades 9-12) provides personalized learning experiences with flexible options, while the Middle School (grades 6-8) adopts a mastery-based learning approach. Enrollment options include 18-week semesters and a 6-week summer term.

Curriculum

Built upon the proven instructional design of Jenison Innovation Academy, alongside a decade’s worth of online course delivery and experience, U-Tech Prep’s curriculum provides students with a rigorous, university preparatory curriculum, while maintaining “choice” and “voice” in how students showcase their mastery of topics and subject matter.  U-Tech Prep courses are NCAA approved, meeting eligibility requirements for prospective Division I and Division II student athletes.

Academic Advising

Full-time students at U-Tech Prep benefit from comprehensive support provided by an Academic Advisor. This includes individualized academic guidance and regular progress monitoring. Students have the flexibility to participate in weekly web conferences with their Academic Advisor, which can be accessed live for interactive engagement or viewed later through recorded sessions, allowing them to fit their studies into their personal schedules.

Honors Academy

U-Tech Prep’s Honors Academy, provides opportunities for ambitious and motivated learners to access a rigorous and fast-paced curriculum pathway.  In addition to accessing advanced content, Honors Academy scholars learn and collaborate within a dedicated learning pod.

Advanced Coursework

U-Tech Prep offers a select offerings of Advanced Placement (AP) courses including AP Statistics, AP U.S. Government and Politics, and AP Calculus AB, and AP Computer Science Principles.  Additionally, U-Tech partners with Central Michigan University for Dual Enrollment courses, through which students (10th grade and above) can earn university credit.
